Introduction

Keeva ("we", "our", or "the app") is a local-first pet pantry tracker for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

The short version: Keeva is designed to keep your data on your device. We collect anonymous product analytics to improve the app, but we do not collect personal information and we do not sell data to third parties.

Data We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Keeva stores the following data locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

• Pet profiles (name, species, breed, weight, date of birth)
• Food product information scanned from packaging
• Pantry inventory and feeding logs
• App preferences and settings
• Custom feeding schedules (Premium)

This data is stored exclusively on your device. We have no ability to access, read, or retrieve it. If you delete the app, this data is permanently removed.

Data We Do Not Collect

Keeva does not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Device identifiers for advertising
• Photos or camera roll content beyond in-session package scanning

Product Analytics

Keeva uses PostHog to collect anonymous product analytics in the iOS app. This helps us understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

What We Collect

• Feature usage events (e.g. which screens are viewed, which features are used)
• Session counts
• App version
• Device type and OS version

What We Do Not Collect

• Personal identifiers (no names, emails, or user accounts)
• Pet profiles, food data, or pantry contents
• Any data that could be linked to your identity

All analytics data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

In-App Purchases & RevenueCat

Keeva offers optional premium features through in-app subscriptions and a lifetime purchase. To manage these purchases, we use RevenueCat as our payment processor.

What RevenueCat Processes

When you make a purchase or restore a previous purchase, RevenueCat processes the following data on our behalf:

• An anonymous app user ID (not linked to your identity)
• Purchase and subscription status information provided by the App Store
• Transaction receipts for purchase validation

RevenueCat acts as a data processor under a data processing agreement. They do not use your data for their own purposes beyond providing us with subscription management services. For more information, see the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Apple App Store

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles all payment information directly. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Camera Access

Keeva requests access to your camera solely to scan pet food packaging. Photos are processed on-device and are never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties. You can revoke camera access at any time through your device's Settings.

Notifications

Keeva may request permission to send local notifications for feeding reminders and low-stock alerts. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and are not sent through any external server. You can disable notifications at any time through your device's Settings.

Feedback Emails

If you contact us via email for support or feedback, we process your email address and message content solely to respond to your inquiry. Your email and its contents are deleted as soon as the inquiry has been processed. No feedback email data is stored long-term or shared with third parties.

Data Transfers

RevenueCat and PostHog are based in the United States. When data is processed by these services, it may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Both providers maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

Data Retention

Local data on your device is retained for as long as the app is installed. You can delete all local data at any time by uninstalling the app.

Subscription data processed by RevenueCat and analytics data processed by PostHog are retained according to their respective data retention policies and applicable legal requirements.

Your Rights

Under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR if you are in the European Economic Area), you have the following rights:

• Right of access — request information about data processed about you
• Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
• Right to restriction — request restricted processing of your data
• Right to data portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Right to lodge a complaint — file a complaint with a supervisory authority

Children's Privacy

Keeva does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app does not require an account and does not collect personal data from any user.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
